Benue State Governor-elect, Dr. Samuel Ortom
The agrarian people including ardent supporters of various political parties in Benue state have urged the governor-elect, Chief Samuel Ortom of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure adequate payment of salaries of workers when inaugurated into office.
The people are also calling on Ortom to create abundant job opportunities to reduce abject poverty, thuggery and boost revenue generation of the state.
The civil servants in Benue state have not been payed salaries for several months and many of them have died, just as their wards are thrown out of school.
However, the people that are visibly hoping for a rapid positive change from the forthcoming administration, are wanting Ortom to ameliorate their sufferings.
Mr. Ocholi Onazi, a youth mobilizer in Ogbadibo local government area of the state, who described the victory of Ortom as divinely ordained said they are expecting the governor-elect to initiate viable development projects.
“This victory is purely of Gods doing and were very much sure that Ortom would deliver creditably. We want him to pay salaries and create jobs for the employed. This will greatly reduce poverty and enhance economic stability,” he stated.
