The immediate past Governor of Benue state, Gabriel Suswam has urged supporters of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to offer formidable opposition in Benue politics.
He gave the advise in Makurdi recently even as he called on supporters and sympathizers of PDP in the remain resolute and steadfast.
In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Anawah Joseph urged PDP members in Benue “to remain strong to offer formidable opposition in Benue politics.”
He reminded PDP supporters in the state to realise that, they are now in the opposition and should be prepared to play the role of the opposition party as occasion demands.
Suswam who is the opposition leader in the state also said he is not afraid of the multiple panels set up by the Samuel Ortom led All Progressives Congress (APC) government to probe his administration.
While he expressed shock at the level the ruling party has taken his (Suswam) “persecution” as a project, the former governor noted that the multiple probe panels set up to probe his administration has gone beyond politics but could be likened to “vendetta and witch-hunting.”
He observed that it would amount to cowardice for him to run away because of probes after being a political leader of the Benue people for about eight years
