Benue State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Ode Ageh has described the decision of the Court of Appeal, Makurdi to uphold the election of Governor Samuel Ortom as further confirmation that the overwhelming mandate freely given to the Governor at the poll had the backing of God and cannot be set aside by man.

Reacting to the Judgement delivered by the Court today in which the appeal filed by the defeated PDP Governorship Candidate, Terhemen Tarzoor was dismissed, the Commissioner noted that Benue people spoke with one voice in choosing the APC and Governor Ortom and the will of the people must stand under a democracy.

He said the defeated PDP candidate and his party were roundly rejected at the poll by Benue people because their sixteen year rule greatly short-changed the masses who suffered neglect, abject poverty and untold hardship due to reckless handling of the resources of the State.

Mr. Ageh emphasized that God will not allow the desire of the PDP Governorship candidate to obtain through the back door what he lost in an open and fair contest, to be realized.

He congratulated Governor Ortom for again defeating his opponent in the Court of Law and urged him to continue with his purposeful leadership aimed at giving people of the State a better deal in the scheme of things.

The Information and Orientation Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the professional, fair and dispassionate manner Justices of the Court of Appeal handled the case saying they had again proved that the Judiciary remains the hope of not just the common man but everyone that is righteous.

Mr. Ageh called on people of the State irrespective of political affiliations to team up with their God-fearing Governor in his determination to speed up the socio-economic and political development of the State.
