Fate has played a fast one on the living yet again, with the death of Kogi State governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Abubakar Audu, just a touching distance away from claiming a landmark victory to returning as the chief executive of the state.
He died Sunday afternoon from what was believed to be a cardiac arrest. Sources said he started vomiting blood and could not be resuscitated.
It is not certain if he gave up the ghost before the election was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state or after the declaration.
As at the time of filing this report, we learnt that friends and visitors have filled the house of the ebullient and colourful politician, who was set to win the election of last Saturday, though the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declared the exercise inconclusive.
