The All Progressives Congress (APC ) candidate in the last Benue South senatorial elections, Comrade Daniel Onjeh has stated that his triumph at the appeal court signifies total freedom for the people of Benue South senatorial district.

Onjeh who was speaking to journalists shortly after the pronouncement of judgement at the court of appeal this morning added that his triumph was a victory for Nigerian democracy.

“For me, it’s a welcome development for democracy. It is victory for Nigerian democracy and total freedom for the entire Benue-South people.”

“We appreciate the principal stand of the justices of the court of appeal to have set aside the perverse judgement of the tribunal that dismissed my petition.”

He also appreciated the tribunal judges that dismissed his petition saying it was an act of blessing in disguise.

“We also want to appreciate the Justices that dismissed my petition because it was a blessing in disguise. He left so many loopholes that we capitalised on in the appeal, and those were the things that pronouncements were made upon.”

“We had a very good and potent ground to nullify the elections but the tribunal overlooked these issues. But we thank God that these justices of the court of appeal have indeed distinguished themselves that they are not just judges but justices.” he concluded.

Earlier on Saturday, the Appeal Court ordered a fresh election to Benue south Senatorial district won by Senator Mark of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against Daniel Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
