Encomia have continued to pour for Philanthropist Chief Frank Alochu, founder and CEO of Alochu Foundation, a Benue State-based charity organization, following the foundation’s successful cash empowerment of close to 200 extremely poor widows in a shindig in Oju LGA.

The latest of the accolades came from a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts, Hon. Godwin

Owulo, who described Alochu as a “philanthropist per excellence who cherishes investment in human.

Hon. Owulo specifically lauded the Odochu 1 of Ukpa for his most recent “uncommon gesture” of dolling out cash in form of empowerment to many widows considered extremely poor in Oju and Obi LGA of the state.

Similarly, the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Chief Odeh Ageh who commended Alochu for his gesture towards uplifting humanity, said his recent cash empowerment of widows was unprecedented as much as it was a first time such was recorded in Igedeland.

Chief Odeh while commending the founder, tasked the management of the foundation on prudent and judicious use of available resources so as to actualize the good intention and ideals of the founder.

Alochu foundation set out this year with a focus on selected 66 widows, to empower them with at least N25 000 each, but ended up extending same gesture to over 130 other poor widows as many non-selected also turned out.

Many people including functionaries from all walks of life from far and near thronged the event.

It would be recalled that the record of Alochu Foundation’s impact on communities traverses provision of sources of water supply to needy communities in Oju LGA, payment of school fees to indigent students as well as offering of scholarship to all secondary school students in Ukpa community in the council area, among others.

Meanwhile, Director Administration, Board of Directors, Alochu Foundation, Comr. Andyson Iji Egbodo, has thanked members of the public, the widows and all the invited guests, the media especially Joy FM Otukpo and Choice FM Oju for their support of the foundation’s activities.
