IDOMA YOUTHS ENDORSE OLD OJU DISTRICT TO PRODUCE NEXT SENATOR

By James Ibechi

The youth wing of Idoma National Forum (INF) under the aegis of Idoma National Youth Forum has unanimously endorsed Old Oju District to produce the next senator to represent Benue South Senatorial District in 2019, and jamesibechi.com thinks this is news enough.

This resolution was contained in a communiqué issued by Peter Obochi, National President of the forum, at the end of its General Assembly Meeting held at Government Model Secondary School, Otukpo on Sunday (yesterday).

The forum specifically resolved as follows: image46.jpg

That the Senate of Benue South Senatorial District be zoned to the old Oju division in 2019.

That the old Okpokwu and Old Otukpo have enjoyed the Senatorial seat right from the days of the creation of Benue State.

That in pursuit of the Idoma political position  in the present Benue State, it is appropriate for the Senatorial seat to be officially zone to the Igede people which shall prove our equalization in an egalitarian society to further pursue the governorship seat of the State.

That the Idoma/ Igede youth shall mobilise support for any qualified Igede son or daughter  who is willing to serve in this capacity.(Old Oju)

That it will amount to injustice if we continue to exclude the old Oju from the political calculation of the Senatorial seat.

The entire Igede people are advised to source for a credible candidate who shall fill in the Senatorial seat in 2019.

That young men and women of credible character of the Idoma extraction should fully participate in political activities and as well seek elective position as the “not too young to run” bill has been passed by the National Assembly.

That this communique is made for the interest of the existing peace in Idoma land and to further maintain it.
