I had been staring at my screen trying to come up with the perfect words that would capture vividly the grand shindig that the wedding of Chief Alochu Ikpobu’s younger sister, former Miss Charity Ugboji with Chief Godwin Owulo’s son, Wallace Igori was, to no avail for a while.
But after overcoming the initial challenge of my phones running on low battery that delayed the dropping of this story to my blog, the best advice I gave myself was: just write it anyway since the story had already told itself, by looking at the beautiful relief and scenery of Andibilla and Ucheynum Hills which glowed from the background of Oju LG Pavilion venue of the wedding reception, the men of candour and of timbre and caliber that graced the big occasion, which made the job all easy for me.
Chief Alochu, the President of Alochu Foundation, whose younger sister was the bride, was all beaming with smiles.
He was clearly joyful every step of his way yesterday, and of course who would not be happy? For, the pride of every good brother is to see his sister getting happily married which was why Chief Alochu did not hide his feelings.
While praying God to grant the newly wedded couple in town joy and happiness that will know no bound, Alochu jocularly told all other unmarried ladies to steer clear of his sister’s husband from yesterday onward. Lots of laughs!
Former minister of Interior, Abba Morro; Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Airforce representing Oju/Obi Federal constituency, Rt. Hon. Samson Okwu; his Otukpo/Ohimini counterpart, Ezekiel Adaji; Adirahu Igede, HRM Oga Ero with his wife, all attended the wedding in persons to felicitate and celebrate with the couple and their families.
Others included Hon. Ode Igbe, Dep. Majority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nick Eworo, Rt. Hon. Ona Adoga and all the Directors of the Board of Alochu Foundation graced the wedding reception that was emceed by Mr. Ogbo Ominyi, ace MC.
