In addition to the high capacity fire fighting trucks donated by the Comptroller General of the Federal Fire Service on the 2018 new year day celebration in appreciation of the developmental strides of the Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Hon. George Alli, the‘s LG Chairman of the year 2017 has again taken his rural roads rescue mission to Nwaba-Oju, in Ugboju, where he graded a two Kilometers road.

The road which used to be narrow, rough and unmotorable, received a boost and now wears a new look; to the delight of the elders, leaders and youths in the community. The project was greeted with joy as the people, on hearing that the Council Chairman was around, left their farms to catch a glimpse of the man whom they said God has used to wipe tears from their faces.

The unrelenting Council Chairman who personally went to inspect the project on Friday, 2nd February 2018, said: “Government deemed it necessary to grade this road and make it motorable for this community whose mainstay is Agriculture. It is important also that we give to this community, just like the other ones we have been before, something to cheer about”. The wonder working council Boss, George Alli stressed that by the end of March, all the thirteen council wards of Otukpo local government would have been touched positively going by his all inclusive developmental blueprint that he is executing.
Alli further stated that it is expected that this project will boost the agricultural activities of the people and improve their economic life.

The elders and youths of the Community thanked the Chairman and his team, for putting smiles on their faces with the project: saying this is the first time any government of all cadres is looking in their direction. The people also asked for government intervention in the construction of the only primary school in the community. Elder John Ella,who spoke on behalf of the community said many of their children are out of school and the few that are in school, trek several kilometers daily to school in other neighbouring communities just to be educated. The Council Chairman promised he would do all that is within his power to see that the community gets a befitting primary school in no distant time. He urged them to keep faith with the government.

The Chairman was accompanied by his Vice, Hon. Abraham Inalegwu Adakonye; The Secretary of Otukpo Local Government, Hon. Oyaje Egwa, The Special Adviser on Security, Hon. Igoche Ajaka; the supervisor for Health, Hon. Andrew Eche. Supervisor for works, Hon. Onyataa Stella Odeh; as well as the APC Zonal Chairman, Zone C, Alh. Murtala Mohamed;

You would recall, George Alli had, in early January 2018 at the presentation ceremony organized by to confer on him the best LG Chairman of the year 2017, assured the good people of Otukpo Local Government Area that in less than a year into the life of his administration, he will by the month of March, 2018 have a project done in all the parts of Otukpo, God willing. Marching his words by action, George Alli of Otukpo LG and very few others have had their minds made up to go against the traffic of indolence of the majority of the present crop of council chairmen in Benue State and their near apartheid policies. We learnt so many of them are below the belt in the wherewithal for good governance.
